Once a design concept is finalized and approved by the client, it is made into a three-dimensional piece using a Perfactory RP printer. The Perfactory is a rapid prototyping “Personal Factory” that creates actual size models in resin or paraffin from existing computer designs and models. We use the terms "grow a model" and "build a model" interchangably to mean printing a model on the Perfactory RP.

To ensure that a quality model results, an item is built in ultra-thin layers, with each layer at a thickness of about 0.0025mm or 1/40 mm.

The Perfactory RP creates models in two types of materials:

• Resin (red in color)
• Paraffin (yellow in color)

Resin is a strong, durable material that is excellent for mold making and creating waxes with silicone molds.

Paraffin is well suited for casting straight from the model. Once a paraffin mold has been printed, it is post cured through exposure to concentrated UV light. It is then ready to be cast in metal.
